10/24/11 Great fall weekend filled with auditions. On set this morning and writing this practically in the dark. Working some background on a huge call today as we are supposed to be tailgating for a football game. Auditions Friday went well but nothing special. Auditions Saturday and Sunday went very well I think. Sunday audition was for a print catalog and I think the casting folks like me. They seemed pleased, but were speaking Japanese so I really do not know for sure. The casting Saturday was an open call and was like nothing I have ever seen before. It was a casting for Quentin Tarintino’s new western feature and the notice stated to wear your best western wear. I wore jeans and cowboy boots with an earthy green button down with a big belt around my waist. I thought I looked western and was ready. I arrived about a half hour early and the line was already around the block and down the street and everyone was completely decked out in authentic old school western garb. It was incredible. There was more facial hair in one place than I have ever seen in my whole life put together. The most incredible mustaches ever. Plus the clothes made three fourths of the people in line look like they just walked off set of a western. There were real cowboys, real bull riders and people with guns. It was crazy! With so many people, you never know what they are looking for, but I think it went well because they had multiple forms casting was handing out and I got the “good” form. Plus, they took some auditionees pictures with two people per shot and only one picture, but for me they took me by myself and too multiple pictures up close and full body. Also, casting told me not to change my hair at all. Hopefully that is a good sign, Partner!
