08/11/14 I am deeply saddened by the news that Robin Williams has died in an apparent suicide today. We often hear of this happening to various celebrities and yes always sad and hard to hear, but this one really hit home. Amazing how affected I feel for a man I never had the pleasure of meeting in person. I have tears as I am typing this. We must remember, we never know what battles people are facing on the inside and we must be kind and compassionate always. Robin Williams is without a doubt one of the great actors who inspired me. He let us know that is ok to just play as an actor and ok to be goofy and ok to have fun. He is one of those actors I would have done just about anything to have worked with and to watch him work. I remember catching glimpses of Mork and Mindy as a child too young to even know what was going on. I remember watching so many many of his movies growing up and as an adult, far too many to even mention. Aladdin as a child was a complete favorite and we could only hear his voice but he brought so much life to the cartoon character of the Genie. And Hook, to this day is one of my favorite movies. Such magic and it serves as a reminder for us to not just get caught up in every day lives and jobs and work, but enjoy life and enjoy the people around us. Be your true self regardless of how silly or goofy it is. Play, ramble and have fun as we are never too grown up. I imagine that at the gates of heaven they are saying, "Oh, there you are Peter," as they welcome him in. Thank you Robin Williams, you made so many people so very happy.
