2-28-11  Sent!  I mailed out about 150 headshots and resumes to agencies here in Los Angeles.  Fingers are crossed!  I had planned to get these in the mail much earlier but with being sick and then working on an ABC drama last week, things got a little delayed.  And yes, you did hear correctly, second LA job complete!  Last Thursday I worked on a TV show as the On Camera Reporter in a courtroom scene.  I had my hair and makeup done this time which is always fun!  My scene was shot the first of the day and then the second scene I was in was the last of the day.  That makes for an incredibly long day!  While waiting, I did get to observe some interesting characters.  There were quite a few extras for this show because it took place in a courtroom full of people.  I will just mention a few characters to paint the picture.  There was a man with black hair past his ears parted on the side and slicked with product straight down on each side.  No, hair and makeup did not request him to do that; it was styled that way when he arrived.  Also we had the 60 something swears like a sailor grumpy man.  Everything he said either had a curse word in front of it or after it or sometimes both.  There was also the girl who brought her own nail dryer to the waiting room.  And we have the man who brought his comic book lithographs with him and then proceeded to draw his own characters throughout the day.  Lastly we have the quill man, who wrote letters with a feather quill pen and dipping ink.  He also sealed his envelopes with wax seals using wax, a lighter and a metal stamper.  Needless to say, I was there for a long day but I had a lot to watch.  That brings me to Friday, this weekend and today where I have been working to update my resume, get it printed, write cover letters, address envelopes and then finally today, I mailed everything.  Around 150 were sent in the mail and probably about 20 more were submitted via email.  Let me just say, this was an expensive project.  $132 in stamps alone!  But it will all pay off in the end, I just know it!  Tomorrow I am shooting in Manhattan Beach on a project where I am a student and a nurse.  Should be fun and keep the work coming!  Now off to Sushi with our friend who is here visiting!
