First Short Film

06/19/11  I am sitting here waiting to shoot my first short film.  I have no lines and am only seen briefly but it is a start and it pays and I can add it to my resume.  I arrived around 6:00 p.m.  and will probably be waiting for a couple of hours before we even shoot my scene.  It makes it extra hard to wait with my hubby and a pan of homemade veggie lasagna waiting for me at home.  Yum o!  I have had a really busy week this past week, which is great and much needed especially with money needing to be made.  Keeping busy is really good and keeping a positive attitude is super important too!  Good thoughts!  This past Monday was the shoot for the Glamorous Hair Insert and the Bun Ring.  The shoot went great with a lot of improvising.  Only bad part of the shoot was me trying to take out the hair product and show how east it was to remove and that it does not damage hair, however, they had curled the ends of my hair and so it was difficult to get out.  I had to practically yank it out.  Obviously it did not come out easily.  Hopefully, they end up cutting that part out.  Tuesday I auditioned for the short film that I am shooting today.  Obviously I got the part.  Later that afternoon I was in the audience of that Jerry Springer Game show.  And again the show and people were ridiculous!  Wednesday and Friday I had two separate test shoots for clothing companies located in the fashion district.  Basically, I would model their clothes for their catalogue and website and it would be an ongoing, weekly, flexible gig.  Thursday I had a shoot for basically informative video clips for a website for a company similar to Cash for Gold.  This will be an ongoing project as well because they would like to film a couple more in the next few weeks.  Hopefully, they like what I did and will call me back to do more.  I also met with the restaurant manager again for a final interview, but it seems to be taking forever because I will not even fill out my paperwork until the middle of this coming week and then training will not be until the following week.  That is a long time to wait to start making any money.  So, I actually hope one of the clothing companies comes through or I think I am going to try a couple of other places.  Friday afternoon I had an audition in Beverly Hills and had Joe go with me because I thought I would be just a quick audition.  I had a scheduled time and when I was finished he would just come meet me and we could have some fun walking around Beverly Hills.  Well, I get there at about 2:15 when my scheduled time was 2:30 and that must have been the appointment time of about fifty other girls as well.  Why even give us scheduled times.  I think this is sometimes a ploy of casting directors to get to meet more people all at once but they do not actually have a particular project in mind.  Oh well!  Plus Beverly Hills was a mess!  It was so crowded and busy.  Joe and I decided to not fight the crowds and traffic decided to pick up half off sandwiches at Whole Foods and to head home and watch a movie.  We watched McGruber, which I do not recommend.  The movie was not terrible, but not good either.  Although, Kristen Wiig cracks me up!  But it was a nice relaxing evening!  Saturday I did a photo shoot for a costume company where I was a tiger.  Rrrr!  So fun!  It was like wearing an onesie or adult footie pajamas and was super comfortable.  Basically, there were a group of us in the costumes and they set the story as an office scene where myself (the tiger) and another girl (the dog) were playing pranks on our fellow coworker (the pig) much to the dismay of our boss (the lion).  Hilarious!  I will post the pictures or link once it is available.  The production people said it should be up and ready this week.  Last night was another audition and that brings us to today for the short film shoot.  This coming week is shaping up to be busy as well which is great!  Keep it coming!  I begin teaching my piano lessons this week which will be fun.  And I have two other interviews scheduled for teaching gigs this week as well as at least three other auditions.  We have some friends and family visiting this coming weekend which will be nice.  Motto for the week ahead: Positivity and good thoughts!
