February Is A Short Month, Right?
02/23/13 February has just flown by. The long and short of this month is that I am loving being at the AMAW acting studio, loving taking voice lessons again, auditioning for various projects, going to callbacks for musical theatre, working on a commercial, shooting stuff for my reel, working on a couple of the regular gigs I have and still teaching lessons. No wonder the month has flown by!
Yesterday I had an audition that was about an hour away because they wanted me there only after 2:00 p.m. and I already had another audition scheduled between noon and 3:00 p.m. and a fitting at 4:00 p.m. so I had to reschedule it. The other audition and the fitting were in the same area of town, so I thought perfect I will go to the audition around 2:45 and then head down the street to the fitting. I gave myself plenty of time to get to the audition and low and behold, it took me just shy of two hours to get to that end of town. So, I end up having to head straight to the fitting. I pull into the parking lot at Universal right by the costume department and receive a phone call. It was my costumer who I let know that I am just in the parking lot and on my way up and she lets me know that I am 45 minutes late. Ahhh, somebody along the way got there times mixed up (not me). Oh well, she was super sweet about it and was working on other stuff in the mean time. The fitting was super quick and then I headed back up the street to where the audition was, knowing that it would be over but hoping that I could at least talk to somebody. Thankfully, I ran into somebody I had worked with before and he was nice and said they definitely want to use me and will call me with details later this coming week. This business can be totally stressful but with hard work and being honest and doing the right thing, it will all work out!
