01/27/15 The “Blizzard of 2015” has pretty much come and gone without much disaster. Also, when did they start naming snowstorms? This one was called Juno. As in “Juno where the snow is, because this is clearly not a blizzard and we all do not need to be freaking out!” Ha! Anyways, we are currently in New Jersey where we performed at the McCarter Theatre last night and we were supposed to be performing at Count Basie Theatre tonight but the show was cancelled due to the weather. Better safe than sorry I guess. The Count Basie Theatre performance is being rescheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2015. As far as the tour, this past week we have been in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and New Jersey. I thankfully had Sunday off and got to see Joe who was in Philly for business. So happy! (Also, we got to have Starbucks, which I have not had in over 20 days.) Our show last night at the McCarter Theatre went really well although we played to a smaller audience due to the weather. We have had some changes to the show recently due to some unforeseen situations; we are short one of our cast members and have been making adjustments over the past week to accommodate the show until they cast a replacement. One of those adjustments is that now instead of singing and dancing during the last part of the show, I am now playing keys. I played the part of keys two during the Laguna Beach Playhouse production of the show but am now playing keys one until further notice. Last night was really the first night that I have felt comfortable enough to have some fun while playing keys one. Being flexible and go with the flow is currently my motto. Overall, I feel that last night’s show was the best yet. Since we have the day off today, I am able to catch up on some business and computer type work and am looking forward to leaving this blizzard and heading to warmer weather as we travel to South Carolina tomorrow.

Good question! Keys just means the piano part. The end of the show is basically the last concert that Buddy, Richie and the Big Bopper played before their tragic flight. In the show everyone sings and plays instruments for the concert. There are two pianos on stage and for the Laguna production, I played the 2nd piano but for this one am playing the 1st piano which is totally new. Having fun with this new part now!
