05/31/11 Sitting in the airport in Columbus after a very busy week! Time is flying! (Ha! Get it?! I am in the airport! Flying!) I will start back about two weeks ago to catch up on everything. I have officially signed my paperwork with my agency and have gone on my first audition booked through them. I ended up not getting the job, but that is ok, keep the auditions coming. I had a callback for the hair product and just found out that I booked that job! I will be on the commercial/infomercial/tutorial and on any packaging for the product. Exciting! We shoot on June 13th. I worked background on a couple of HBO/Showtime shows and also at an event that featured Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss. Too Funny! Also, I had orientation for A Day at the Ball and for Take Lessons. So now with orientations complete, I am ready to teach piano/voice lessons and to be a Princess! Excited to get started with both of those companies! Last Wednesday I left LAX for CMH, arrived Wednesday evening and we celebrated my niece Charlie’s 1st Birthday! The Birthday party was complete with pizza, cake and Frosty Paws ice cream treats for Charlie! Charlie is a 50 pound labradoodle! She had a great party, looked great in her party hat and had fun opening her gifts! Not kidding! She is spoiled but what can I say, so is my Snoogles! I can only imagine how spoiled my niece or nephew to be will be. This is one of the reasons I was traveling back to Columbus, was to throw my sister’s baby shower. She is due at the beginning of August and we will be excited to find out if it will be a boy or girl because they are not finding out. The second reason I traveled back was to throw a bridal shower for my friend whose wedding is in July. I am the maid of honor! And Joe is officiating the wedding! We are looking forward to this fun event this summer! And are very excited for the bride and groom! Thursday and Friday were spent preparing for the weekend showers. The baby shower went off without a hitch! The bridal shower went very well with one exception…no bride! My friend had traveled to Chicago for another shower and ended up being stuck there due to fog first and then thunder and lightning storms soon after. We ended up having the shower without her sad to say. We had a nice time but definitely missed having the guest of honor in attendance. She did arrive Monday and we got to spend a few hours together, which was nice. I will be traveling to Denver in about two weeks for the bachelorette party where we will be able to spend a bit more time together. All and all it was a nice trip back to Ohio! However, I was asked to work a couple of jobs in LA while I was here. And was asked to audition for a liquor commercial that paid $8,500 while I was here. The money would have been nice! But it was good to be back for these special events and to visit with everyone. I think I have decided not to travel anywhere for the 4th of July holiday because it seems like the past two holidays, Easter and Memorial Day, were out of LA and I was offered so much work. Oh well! Next holiday weekend, no travel, more work! Anyways, the same day I was booked for the hair job, I received a phone call asking me to audition for Mattel for the role of Barbie! That would be so fun! My audition is this Friday. Oh and to top off the role of Barbie, she is a singing Barbie! Looking forward to it! Well, I am now on the plane and headed back to CA! It was a nice visit but it will be nice to get back to working too!
