Well, actually I titled this post Columbus Day because I just returned from my hometown Columbus, Ohio! This is the first time I have been back to Columbus during fall since I moved here to Los Angeles. And I have to say returning to LaLaLand is bittersweet. Fall is the best time of the year in Columbus, the crisp weather, the leaves, the pumpkins, the football (Go Buckeyes!) , the hoodies, sweaters, jeans and boots. Fall always makes me miss Columbus and returning to visit this time of year made me miss it even more. It was great to see family and friends and visit new places and eat new food and also return to some of my favorites. Then getting off of the plane back in LA I immediately have to take my sweatshirt off because it is so muggy, have to wrestle through the crowd to get my luggage and then am fearful for my life while walking out of the airport to be picked up because traffic was out of control. It was one of the busiest times I have ever experienced at the airport. Luckily the drive home was not so bad and then getting to see my adorable puppy when I got home was really great. There are definitely pros and cons to living out here and pursuing this career. To make things more interesting, I had planned to hit the ground running on Monday morning, getting computer work caught up, heading to the gym, submitting for gigs, working on ideas for updating my reel, getting back to class and practicing some new songs; but I woke up with no voice and have been trying to not get sicker all day. Staying positive and still looking forward to all of those things when I feel just a little less under the weather! Also, have an exciting announcement here in the near future, stay tuned!
