10/05/12 The morning of Friday, September 28th everything was good. It was Friday. I was ready for a great weekend. And I was booked for the entire next week. No anxiety about jobs, working, or anything. Then things started to fall apart. I got a call that I was not needed Monday. Then an email that I was not needed Tuesday. And then another email that I would not be needed the remainder of the week. What an up, followed by a crashing down. That is the nature of this business. I know that. However, no matter how confident, sure of yourself, and optimistic you are, it can send you into a whirlwind of doubts. Friday afternoon I am doubting my talent, what am I doing out here, will I ever work again, etc. etc. I had put myself into a funk. Boo! After a brief period of self pity, I decided this is silly and I needed to get back up on that unicorn and keep on going! (I say "unicorn" because "horse" is so normal and unicorn is much more interesting and fits me way better!) Anyways, I made a few phone calls and got online and wah-lah! I ended up booking some great gigs for the entire week! I had a photo shoot Monday, a photo double gig Tuesday, worked a pilot Wednesday & Thursday, and then worked on a commercial that filmed at the beach on Friday! If that does not show you that positive thinking and persistence do not pay off then I do not know what does!
