05/05/11 Happy Cinco de Mayo! Funny thing is that I actually over heard a girl ask her friend, “When is Cinco de Mayo?” Too funny! Up and out super early again today. Only got about 4-5 hours of sleep last night but at least I was totally out and not tossing and turning so I feel good! I had to be on set at 6:30 a.m. And this is the first time I have been on the set of Universal Studios. I must say that this is my favorite to date. Favorite despite that when I pulled up to the giant gate, which seems unreal that I am pulling through, they could not find my name on the list. That kind of thing always gives me a nervous feeling in my stomach. So, I have to call the emergency number at the background casting company and they help my nerves fade away by letting me know that I am the third person that has called with that same problem this morning. Whew! Plus by that time, the security guard found my name and let me through. It is nice because I actually got to bring the Mini on to set today because they are using it for a European scene. I drove the Mini through the studios through a big city, a western town and to a European village; it really is like movie magic! I think the Mini is getting a lot of screen time lately! Plus it means a little extra money for me! Speaking of money, California is expensive! No worries though we figured out a little more of a budget last night and can totally make it work, just have to have a little different spending habits. Plus, I have registered/applied to teach some private piano and voice lessons here in LA which will bring in a little extra as well. I really enjoy teaching lessons as well! Fun! On set now, thank goodness for coffee, as it is not even 8:00 a.m.!
