07/12/11 Waiting at a shoot for Martini liquor. Lots of people here today and over hearing people talking is hilarious how much people like talking about themselves and bragging and name dropping. Oh well, to each his own! I have continued to keep busy since that trip to Denver mid month last month. Now is my turn to brag about my business! Ha! I worked a bridal fashion show where literally my hair was pulled so tightly with so many pins and fake hair and jewels that I literally ended up with an egg sized bump on my head. I thought I may throw up because my head was hurting so badly. Then the makeup artist was so rough when applying the makeup she even stuck an eye pencil in the inside corner of my eye! Ouch! Not to mention we were told that they were going to feed so I did not bring anything with me. I got so hot, hungry, dehydrated, with head in pain from the hair that I almost passed out. I stepped outside for some fresh air and they were like oh we will get you some water. Great, I thought and thank you. They bring me a glass of water and a sugar covered doughnut! What model wants to eat a sugar doughnut right before they are ready to walk down a runway! Beauty really was pain that day! The show turned out ok, but oh my, what a day!
About a week and a half ago, I was Rapunzel at a tea party. It was so adorable! My favorite part was the littlies girl there. All of the girls are sitting around the table having tea and treats and I told all of them that the way a Princess drinks tea is that she puts her pinky out as she sips. Then I proceeded to show them how to do it and they all copied. A little later during the tea party I look over and see the littlest girl taking a drink of tea from the tea cup she is holding with her right hand but her left hand was also raised about to mouth level with her pinky on that hand sticking out! Adorable! I also had a shoot for the Thai Food Network and for the gold company. I have had multiple auditions recently including a Lifetime pilot audition and then a callback. As well as, a test shoot for the clothing company Gypsy 05. Gypsy 05 has an awesome billboard and look book campaign. One of their billboards is in downtown Hollywood which would be an awesome opportunity for exposure if I get it. Will keep you posted on it. All of our friends who were staying with us have now left. (Miss them!) And this past weekend was Joe’s birthday! We had a great weekend complete with spending his actual birthday as a beach day! His birthday was a little, ok a lot, lower key than we normally would have spent it due to current money spending limits. But it is ok because we agreed that he can get presents on my birthday too if we are in a better financial state at that time. Which, I know we will be because I have good positive thoughts! And that brings us to today for the Martini & Rossi shoot! …Still waiting at the shoot. They just ordered Subway and thankfully there was a veggie option! Then a nice guy, or so I thought, saw me scanning for a place to sit and was like oh you can sit here. So, I did, and what a mistake. He was trying to start a conversation with me and I could not scarf my sandwich quick enough. He was so awkward and annoying talking about his slasher shirt farmer tan he had from shooting a zombie movie this past weekend and blah blah blah. I just wanted to eat my sandwich, which I did in about on e bite, smiled and politely walked away. The interesting people you meet in Los Angeles!
