08/20/12 Setting Goals
This weekend I had some time to think, discuss and reflect on how things are going. We have been out here over a year and a half now. My overall goal when we decided to move from Ohio to California, was to be working full time as an actor/model/singer. And although not quite as I pictured it, goal complete. Along with a few other goals being complete. Goal to get agency representation, check. Goal to become union, check. I am working full time acting, modeling and performing. No desk job, no waiting tables, etc. I am truly thankful and fortunate! However, recently I have found myself thinking, what now? After thinking and discussing, I have developed some new goals. These five goals are in no particular order and with them comes hard work and also more financial compensation. Goal one, to be cast in an under five speaking role or larger. Goal two, to be cast in a stage show, musical, play, etc. Goal three, continue my education with classes, coaches and study even more. Goal four, to continue to work as I am continuing to build and grow and progress. And lastly Goal five, to be more present, live in the moment and enjoy the journey...Just after I wrote this entry, I was reading my AMAW book, At Right Brain Turn Left, and there was a passage that was so fitting to go along with living in the moment and enjoying the journey, I had to quote it here. "Such is life. Never finished. Never complete. Just when we get to one peak, we're forced to scale a new one. We seem to arrive-at the fulfillment of some goal in life-only to realize it's not an ending, but a new beginning, at a different altitude. A new situation. A new level."
