01/04/15 In light of recently watching the movie Into the Woods, Excited And Scared, pretty accurately sums up my feelings right now. (Side note: Go see the movie it was very good!) I am writing this on the airplane as I travel from Columbus to Detroit where I have a very brief layover and then am on my way to NY/NJ to begin rehearsals for Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story. We start rehearsals tomorrow. I am definitely excited because this is going to be an awesome national tour! But also a little scared because of the craziness of going all over the country and being away from my husband and my little Snoogles pup for so long. As I am traveling the country I plan to write more and to give updates on everything. For starters, packing for this trip was a bit of a challenge. I have to fit everything into one checked bag, a carryon bag and one personal item. I always like to be prepared so of course I would like to pack my entire apartment into those three bags. Or even better yet, have a Mary Poppins carpet bag. Obviously that is not possible; but by taking some careful time and clothing rolling skills assisted by the hubby, I managed to fit it all, including my ukulele and my kitty cat onesie. Explanation: I plan on teaching myself ukulele when I have any down time and the kitty cat onesie was a Christmas gift that I have literally worn every night since I received it because it is so snuggly and comfy. Ridiculous, I know. Anyways, it is also exciting to start the year off performing right away and not having any time for a lull or that ever-popular winter frump zone. It is exciting and scary being away from LA for so long, but I am in the process of getting all of my materials updated and posted and ready to have my team in place and hit the ground running when I return to Los Angeles.
