03/05/15 We are officially one month away from closing the tour and me heading back to Los Angeles. We still have a lot of stops along the way. We are just leaving Kansas and are heading to New Mexico, California, Arizona, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Just as we began the tour it is an exciting and also a scary thought that we are about a month out from closing. As an actor you always are looking for that next gig and next project. There is some quote out there (that I cannot really find right now) that when asked what the best acting gig is, the response is always, the next one. And that tends to be true. We tend to look forward to what is next but sometimes the thought crosses your mind as a project is ending that you will never work again and who will want me now. (As I have said, so many ups and downs in this business and it is a constant struggle to stay out of our own way.) However, as the end of this project is drawing near I thankfully am excited for the new opportunities and projects and possibilities that will be available to me after. The potential for a great 2015 is lining up quite nicely right now and I am getting pretty excited. The momentum will keep moving forward. There was an interesting article posted the other day A Crisis in American Acting http://www.maggieflaniganstudio.com/acting-classes-nyc/crisis-in-american-acting/ that talked about how many actors in America are lazy and that there is a lack of training/technique of the craft and rather an emphasis on fame, money and the celebrity aspect. I would agree with this in most cases. However, speaking for myself, I absolutely believe in the importance of training and want to never stop learning. I agree with the sentiments in the article that “successful artists have instilled a habit of creativity…a true artist is consumed with detail; they possess artistry and have a solid work ethic…training and obsessive work is the only thing that will make that a possibility.” In the spirit of working hard and moving forward; enjoying the current moment of being on tour and also looking ahead with excitement. The Cast and Creative pics are now up on the Buddy website http://www.buddythemusical.com/cast-creative and also my info is up on the Casting page http://www.buddythemusical.com/boppers-ritchies-others.
